Home espresso machines under $4,000 (US street price), from entry machines to prosumer dual boilers and manual levers, compared spec by spec.
Group is the brew head design: the classic E61, a saturated or semi-saturated group heated by the boiler, a thermoblock, or a lever. Brew control is how you start and shape the shot. PID “Brew + steam” means separate temperature controllers on both boilers; on heat exchangers the PID sets the steam boiler and brew temperature follows it. Flow control “Optional” means the maker or main US retailer sells a factory flow-control version. Water fill is where you top up the tank. “Not yet checked” and “Unverified” are specs we haven't confirmed yet. Prices are US street prices checked November 2026 and move often.
